April 15 - Large Daily Fluctuations, Wide Peak in NYS Deaths

1. Large day-to-day fluctuations are seen although a positive trend continues for both the USA and the World. Days-to-Double (DD) for positives for the USA now stands at ~14 days and for the World at ~17 days. DD for deaths for the USA is at ~8 days and for the World at ~11 days.

2. Today NYS reported a rather high number of confirmed cases (i.e., positives). It is in fact the record daily number ever reported during this pandemic in NYS. The peak in daily deaths appears to be rather wide and smeared out with high numbers being reported last two days. Anxious to see these numbers taking a nose-dive soon!


3. Strong improvements continue in all of daily hospitalizations data from NYS with negative daily change (i.e., net reduction) reported yesterday in hospitalization, ICU admittance, as well as intubations.


4. Percentage of positives in NYS continue at alarming high levels, yesterday's up-tick puts it above 40% once again, at 43%.
