April 11, 2020 - Starting to Look Better

1. Today has affirmed that the peak in daily deaths in the State of NY occurred on April 8th (really, the peak is anywhere between April 7th - 10th). Marked improvements continue in all of daily hospitalizations data from NY. Still, need a confirmation of the peak over the next couple of days. NJ seams to be only a couple of days or so behind as well as the entire USA.


2. As mentioned in yesterday's post, one specific concern regarding the dynamic of the spread in NY remains a high percentage of positives - little above 40% of all tested are positive. This is rather high and unexplained. For comparison, note that for the entire USA it is at under ~20%!


3. Marked improvements are seen in Days-to-Double (DD) for both the USA and the World:


  • DD for deaths is now ~7 days for the USA and ~12 days for the World.

  • DD for confirmed cases is now ~12 days for the USA and ~14.5 days for the World.
